John is a socio-economic strategist, executive advisor, and transformation leader with more than 30 years of experience guiding organizations toward measurable growth and sustained impact. As CEO and Chief Strategy Officer of Martin Sloane International (MSI), and Founder and CEO of MSI Global Campus (MSIGC), a Charlotte-based 501(c)(3), he leads an integrated platform that aligns business strategy, innovation, and community economic development to deliver scalable results.
John is the architect of the Building Thriving Communities™ framework and the Socio-Economic Engine™— proprietary models that integrate entrepreneurship, workforce development, AI-enabled analytics, and cross-sector collaboration to drive socio-economic advancement. His work bridges Fortune 100 strategy with grassroots execution, enabling organizations to scale while advancing community transformation. His forthcoming book, Building Thriving Communities™, is scheduled for release in 2026.
Through MSI, John advises executive-level clients on strategy, operational performance, and innovation enablement. Over the course of his career, he has helped organizations unlock more than $1B in value through process optimization, automation, data strategy, and business intelligence. During his tenure at IBM, he advanced value-based consulting approaches that aligned technology investments and organizational efficiency with measurable business outcomes.
Complementing this work, MSIGC delivers entrepreneurial and workforce development programs with wraparound community services to expand economic mobility in underserved communities—impacting hundreds of entrepreneurs and professionals across dozens of communities.
An Executive DBA doctoral candidate in International Business Strategy, John integrates global perspective with applied, real-world execution. He is a certified facilitator through the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) and IBM. He holds multiple certifications in strategy, consulting, technology, and nonprofit development.
A trusted advisor and ecosystem builder, John has established a robust network of strategic partners that expand access to capital, expertise, services, and infrastructure for growing organizations. He has taught and delivered training across corporate, academic, and community institutions including IBM, Bank of America, Royal Insurance, TransAmerica, Catawba College, Rutledge College, and The Boost Pad, and has collaborated with Duke University’s Osmond Center on entrepreneurial mindset programming. He is also the founder of The Collective™, a collaborative network of more than 40 professionals and organizations dedicated to helping small businesses and communities thrive.
